Union Bank

History
Union Bank is a full-service, locally-owned community bank. Union Bank's history is the story of how 14 entrepreneurial men from various business backgrounds came together to build a community bank based on unsurpassed customer service. The current Union Bank had its beginning in 1965 as Bannister Bank - in a double-wide trailer prior to completion of the original bank building. Three of the bank's founders remain on the Board of Directors today: George R. Raupp, Virgil L. Thorp and Don E. Williams. Raymond E. Glasnapp served as Chairman of the Board until his passing in February 2002; his wife, Erma Lee Glasnapp, joined the Board in March 2002.
The collective vision of the bank's founders for a community bank built on customer service - a philosophy that was not embraced by banks at the time - was the cornerstone of Union Bank and continues to be an integral part of the Bank's culture.
The Bank has grown substantially since its "trailer days," particularly since it acquired the original Union Bank in 2001. Today, there are 11 Union Bank branches throughout the Missouri side of the Kansas City metropolitan area.
