New Business Contacts
The Chamber creates opportunities for people to meet, network and do business. Some ways to make contacts include:
1) Monthly Membership Lunches featuring a different speaker each month on topics that are important to business.
2) Annual events such as the Annual Dinner, Ultimate Networking After Hours, Golf Tournament, 9-Chamber Mega Office Party.
3) Committee for Economic Growth (CEG) Breakfasts feature different topics focusing on emerging development in the South Kansas City area.
Referrals
The Chamber receives hundreds of requests each year for goods and services to be purchased in our area. We refer Chamber members to visitors, newcomers, businesses and residents over the phone and by mailing out our Chamber Membership Directory.
Publicity & Exposure
The Chamber promotes your organization to the public and business community in several ways:
1) Free Listing on the Chamber’s Web Site is a way for your business to gain a presence on the world wide web.
2) Ribbon Cuttings, Grand Openings and Open Houses are provided for new or expanding businesses at no cost.
3) The Monthly Memo is a e-mail newsletter sent out to all members each month with short articles about upcoming events, issues facing businesses and good news stories about members.
4) Chamber Membership Directory is an annual publication that two free listings of your business; by name and business type. This publication is distributed to every Chamber member as well as new residents, visitors and businesses. Low-cost display ads are also available for purchase.
5) Sponsorships for events such as the Annual Dinner, Golf Tournament, and Monthly Luncheons give members an opportunity to showcase their businesses and products to other members.
6) The Ultimate Networking Event allows participants the opportunity to promote their business one-on-one to at least 40 people from three different area chambers in one hour’s time.
Professional Development
The Chamber is dedicated to improving your abilities to achieve success in your business or professional life. The Leadership South Kansas City (LSKC) program is a great way to meet the business and community leaders in Kansas City and learn about all facets of the community. You will learn what makes a great leader by watching some of Kansas City’s greatest in action!
Influence Political Issues
The Chamber works closely with local, state, county and federal government officials to be an advocate on issues that affect the business community in South Kansas City.

The Chamber serves as a central source of information for members who are seeking community and business demographics, lists, contacts and other resources.
