The South Kansas City, Grandview, Harrisonville and Lee's Summit Chambers of Commerce are excited to be partnering with Citslinc International, Inc. to offer our members and the community a unique opportunity to travel to China with fellow business colleagues and community members.  From October 5 to October 13, 2009 you will visit memorable sites, both ancient and modern, and enjoy a mulitude of unforgettable experiences.  For business travelers, thre will be an opportunity to meet with business leaders in China and learn how the Chinese business system works.

Day 1 - Los Angeles/Beijing
Arrive at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to board an early morning flight, departing at 1:40 a.m., for Beijing. Your adventure begins as you fly trans-Pacific aboard a wide cabin jetliner, crossing the International Dateline.

Day 2 - Beijing
Arrive in Beijing, the Capital of China at 6:30 a.m. You will be met by your local tour guide at the airport and transfer to the hotel. After getting checked in, you will depart aboard a tour bus to visit the Tian An Men Square, the largest square in the world, and the Temple of Heaven, built in 1420 A.D., where the emperors prayed to the heaven for a good harvest.

Day 3 - Beijing
Sightseeing includes the Palace Museum, also known as the Forbidden City, the home of 24 emperors and empresses with a total space of 9,999 rooms. Then you will see the Summer Palace known for many significant sites such as the Long Corridor with painted gallery, Kunming Lake and Longevity Hill, Seventeen-Arch Bridge and Marble Boat.

Day 4 - Beijing
A short bus excursion takes you to the Great Wall, the 4,000 mile long and 2,000 year old fortification that is said to be the only man-made structure visible with the naked eye from the moon. Next you will visit the Ming Tombs. One of 13 Ming Emperors’ Tombs is fully excavated and open for exploration. Enjoy a fabulous Roasted Beijing Duck Dinner.

Day 5 - Beijing/Shanghai/Suzhou

Day 6 - Suzhou/Hangzhou
We bus to Hangzhou where the ancient and modern stand shoulder to shoulder. Visit the Economic Development Zone and the fascinating Lingyin Temple with its imposing 64-foot Buddha carved from camphor wood.

Day 7 - Hangzhou/ShanghaiChina Pic 4
Before leaving Hangzhou, you will board a boat and cruise on picturesque West Lake with a stopover at jewel-like pagodas and teahouses. After lunch your bus will take you back to Shanghai and your hotel.

Day 8 - Shanghai
Sightseeing includes the Yu Garden, a maze of marvelous pavilions, ponds, rocky works and over arching trees, and the Bund, a famous waterfront park. Experience a business visit to the Pudong economic development zone.

Day 9 - Shanghai/Los Angeles
You may spend your final hours in China on your own before boarding a 12:35 pm flight to Beijing where you will connect with an 8:15 p.m. flight that will arrive in Los Angeles at 4:15 p.m. on the samday.


Registration:

  • A $200 nonrefundable deposit is required at the time you register.
  • The $200 deposit will be taken out of your total cost
  • The total balance is due by Saturday August 1, 2009

 

 

 

EACH PARTICIPANT IS REQUIRED TO HAVE BOTH A PASSPORT AND A VISA TO TRAVEL IN CHINA
The process for obtaining these usually takes a few months so do not delay.
